The convention

The exhibition itinerary set up at Palazzo Ciacchi with paintings and ceramics coming from the Civic Museums’ deposits represents the final and finally visible lap, of the convention signed in 2006 between the Municipality of Pesaro and Confindustria Pesaro Urbino.

The agreement foresees that the art pieces be granted in use for at least ten years renewable, with the guaranty of an adequate conservation and with a broad enjoyment compatibly with the activities carried out within the building. On their side, Confindustria has sustained the restoration of the pieces and allows the visiting of the areas set up, every third Friday of the month from 15:00 to 18:00, with advance booking.

The convention is inspired by the ‘Codice dei Beni Culturali e del Paesaggio’ that contemplates and provides incentives for the course of action thanks to which the private can participate in the valorization of public heritage.

With this innovative agreement, in fact, the Municipality and Confindustria share the commitment to safeguard and promote the civic collections, an excellent expression of the cultural identity of the territory where both operate. Not casually, the project has obtained the full adhesion of the ‘Soprintendenza per il Patrimonio Storico Artistico ed Etnoantropologico delle Marche – Urbino’.

The new museum creates an ideal link between two historical buildings, Palazzo Toschi Mosca and Palazzo Ciacchi, branch offices of the same content: the pieces of art of the Civic Museums; and adds a block to the public offer towards residents and tourists, that gets enriched with a “location for culture” that already exists but is now ever more vital due to its renewed function.
